This term has been extremely busy with a lot going on in the classroom as well as outside the classroom.
Having just completed assessment for mid year OTJS I have seen some amazing progress in some students learning as well as some students not showing much progress as all. Something that I struggle with is not seeing improvement in students understanding of a strategy or subject which I feel I have covered well in class. Reflecting on this shows me where the children's gaps may be and where I need to go next with my teaching as well as their learning.

Something else that has been as recurring issue this term has been consistent problems with a parent which have really made me feel like I was failing. When this happens now, I have started to try to not let it upset me as with it being an isolated issue, it shouldn't be reflection on myself.
Behaviour has also decreased in the class this term and I feel that a need for emotive and value lessons need to play a big part of my teaching programme next term. Hopefully by deliberately teaching these social skills can help the students. Another strategy that I need to continue to work on is using my IY skills that I learnt from Amanda last year.
Goals for Term 3:
- regularly writing my reflections down of the students learning and my teaching. I know that I am constantly reflecting but struggle to write down these reflections down to keep a record.
- consistently using IY strategies in the classroom.
- completing inquiry and keeping this a focus.
- give more chances for the children to be the teacher as this is how they learn best.
